Prompted by a conversation I'm having elsewhere:
A sign that something is wrong in America is when Ann Coulter can make Henry II statements, pass them off as a joke and people say that that makes it OK. If society has decayed to the point that making a joke about your political opponents swallowing rat poison is acceptable, then unfortunately that's a bad thing.
There are lines that should not be crossed, and using humor as a way to say "Who will rid me of this turbulent priest" is one of them.
